Description
Low stretch, low memory PE braid in high-vis orange. Casts weighted crab traps from piers, jetties and surf.
- BUILT FOR CASTING CRAB TRAPS: 50 lb multi-strand PE braid sized for casting a weighted crab trap from a pier, jetty, beach or dock and hauling it back loaded. Braid is thinner than mono of the same test, so it cuts the wind and casts farther.
- LOW STRETCH, FAST FEEL: Braided line has almost no stretch, so you feel the weight change when a crab climbs onto the bait and can pull at the right moment instead of after it lets go.
- LOW MEMORY, FEWER TANGLES: Lays flat off the spool without the coils mono picks up between trips, so a rod stored rigged is ready on the first cast. Suits spinning reels in the 4000 to 8000 size range used by most pier and surf crabbers.
- HIGH-VIS ORANGE: Easy to see against the water and the pier deck, so you can track drift in the current, spot a pull on the line and keep two or three trap lines apart when fishing more than one rod.
- 328 YARDS PER SPOOL: 300 m is enough to rig two to three crab trap rods with line left for retying. Pairs with AirFly castable crab traps, crab rings and 4-arm harness rigs. Designed by AirFly in San Francisco, where we have crabbed the docks since 2019.
AirFly braided crab trap line is a 50 lb multi-strand PE braid made for castable crab trap fishing from piers, jetties, beaches and docks. Braid casts farther than mono of the same strength, has almost no stretch so you feel a crab working the bait, and lays off the spool with low memory so a rod stored rigged is ready on the first cast. The high-visibility orange color makes it easy to follow your line in the current and keep several trap lines apart. Each spool holds 328 yards (300 m), enough to rig two to three trap rods with line to spare for retying, on spinning reels in the 4000 to 8000 range. Use it with AirFly castable crab traps, crab rings and 4-arm harness rigs for Dungeness and rock crab on the West Coast or blue crab on the East and Gulf coasts. Designed by AirFly in San Francisco, a crabber-run brand founded on the SF Bay docks in 2019.
